When the time in high school, studied electrical engineering major influenced by family business of electical store. The same time it's graduation, started live apart from family in Aichi and work for an electrical products firm in Osaka as an engineer. The first camera by himself was at the age 19 when worked in Akita, northern in Japan. Quit the firm, in spring at the age 20.
Moved to Tokyo to study photography at ' Tokyo Visual Arts school ' with the first camera of Canon AE-1 P and a 50 mm lens. Most of the focus of the shooting were motor cycle sports and studio model photo by using only black and white films. All self processing from developing film to printing on paper were done in a small room.
The same time of graduation from the school in photo journalism major, started working for a commercial photo studio in Tokyo. After a couple years of assisting for photographers, started working a photographer in the studio. Throughout the shooting from jewelry, bags, and clothes to furniture, model, and snap, learned most of knowledge of operating and settings strobe and variety type of photo equipments.
In the summer of 1999, left the commercial studio and started preparing to move to America.
April in 2000, came to New York as a student for English study with an eight-month program in Long Island University in NY, lived in Glen Cove city. After the program, moved to New York city and started shooting on the street while attending to an English school. In the first plan, the time going back to Japan was around fall in 2001 but the trigger of the September 11, thinking to stay longer to see what is going on the City.
2003 and 2004, attended winter part-time documentary course of Inter national Center of Photography, instracted by Ellen Binder and Andre Lambertson. Both of them encouraged to focus on not only photography but also journalism. Continuously went to shoot especially Staten Island Ferry, Coney Island, and Some Japanese Martial Arts classes.
2004 to 2006, attended to a private computer graphic school and learned computer graphics, web designing, digital movie editing, and 3D graphic. Graduated from the school in August 2006 and now in April 2007, in the term of OPT, Optional Practical Training till September. Then, going back to Japan.
